Birthday Visit

 Trish and I had plans to take her out for her birthday, you just never know what Mom may want to do.  Sometimes she wants to go, other times she is very unsure of what we want to do for her and other times the caregivers will suggest just sticking around the facility because she is in one of her Houdini moods and wants to escape.  So in this case, we just stuck around Maryland Gardens and they let Trish and I use their conference room for our birthday luncheon with Mom.  We brought down Arby's sandwiches and cupcakes, cards and gifts for her.  I do not think she understood what they were for, but Mom being who she is just went along with the little party.  She is sweet that way.  She ate most of her sandwich, fries and cupcake.  We are so thankful that she has gotten her appetite back.  We brought her a long sleeve shirt and long pants in preperation for the cool weather.  It was hard convincing her not to put the pants on, but she was hell bent on getting that shirt on as you can see in one of the pictures.  Sometimes you just have to pick your battles.  All in all it was a wonderful visit.  Please know to that if you want to send her birthday cards or any cards for that matter, we can take them to her.  Please look in the contact area to see how to get in touch with either of us girls or the facility that Mom is at.
